In general, a cruise line, a cruise ships, its employees, and its staff owe a passenger a duty of reasonable care, to use reasonable care under the circumstances and not do things which are going to cause someone to be injured. There are no specific rights set out in any statute that would be a blanket pronouncement as to what sort of obligations and responsibilities a cruise line has to its passengers. It is often a situation where you’ve got federal admiralty and maritime law that dictates the rights and responsibilities of the passenger and also the cruise line towards that passenger.
