The only options, really, are to file a claim for the compensation that you require, because of the fact that you’ve been injured. There is no pre-suit type of mechanism for bringing a case against a cruise line. The tickets do dictate that you have to provide notice to the cruise line, with full particulars, within 6 months of the date of the accident. Most cruise lines also have a provision in their tickets that say you have to bring suit within one year of the date of the accident. Those tickets generally specify that you have to rbing the action in a federal court, located in a particular forum.

For most of the carriers, such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean, the ticket generally provides that you’re going to have to file your suit in the federal district court in the southern district of Florida, which is in Miami.
